When the magical city of Llewellyn suffers a series of attacks, Runesmith Mike Brennan returns to help the magi that once turned their backs on the former cop. With a devastated police force and a city in shambles, Mike must reply on his family and some unlikely allies, including a magical expert that can’t cast spells, an apprentice druid not old enough to shave, an ancient warrior reincarnated as a little girl and a guy who’s been reincarnated way too many times.

As events unfold, Mike is forced to face the dangerous consequences of his past actions and decide whether to once again take up the badge and the burdens that come with it. Together, he and his allies work to stop the attacks and discover who is behind them. But the enemy always seems to be one step ahead and has some rather unique allies of its own.
